starting yesterday the puppy is now a full time office pup. so far he's doing great, even though ge had to start his career by keeping still and quiet through an important meeting. the sister and the cocker spaniel had to leave yesterday morning, as the sister is doing a test for the air traffic control training today. keep your fingers crossed she passes!

right now we're having a coffee break, and i'm having my coffee in my office so the pup won't have to be alone. he had a scary encounter with one of the other office dogs (who turned out to be a pedophile) this morning. he also peed on my desk (the pedophile, not the pup).

we're still calling him "the pup", by the way... we're trying soheil again, as that's his real name after all. but it doesn't really work. we're also trying "sasoh" as a pet name, but that sounds a bit silly and i think he needs a name that's as un-silly as possible to prevent bullying from my hunting colleagues...

the other day i drove a colleague home after work. we had been talking a bit about the audi earlier during the day, and he said that it probably couldn't be so bad and started talking about things that could be the matter with it. after about 5 km in the car he suddenly said "you know what? it's probably a miracle that keeps it going". i didn't ask him to clarify that, in case it meant something bad.

soheil's first full time working day

his first walk through the city (if you can call sollefteå a city...)

the weekend:

friday: film-night with lots of chocolate

saturday: pick-nicked on the island with the husband, the sister and the dogs. went to ö-vik to pick up sara. went to umeå. had dinner at the nice hotel. unfortunately they only had chicken, which is the only thing i don't (normally) eat, but it was very nice of them anyway. went to see lisa miskovsky in the evening. only recognised two or three songs. she was good and seemed sweet, but to be impolite and honest i found most of the songs quite boring. went to ...don't remember the name of the pub...bishop's arms?... to have a beer. remembered that i don't like beer, and only had a fourth of it. went to rex and danced all night. a very young man flirted with me when we were trying to walk through the crowds to get to the bar. i don't know if he was being polite or perverted. he was almost young enought to be my grandson.

sunday: had a nice breakfast at the hotel, with the famous waffles that was the reason we chose that hotel. went home. barbecued in the garden. went for a walk along the river. spa-night with the sister in the bathroom in the cellar. unfortunately our hot-water-maker-thing can't make enought hot water to fill the two bathtubs... so we had a "bathing ceremony" with one hot and one luke warm tub, and had to take turns in the hot one.

things are growing in my garden!!! i'm sure it's mostly weed, but i'm happy anyway. so when i had to order five books from a book club to be allowed to quit it recently i ordered gardening books :) and i've forbidden the poor husband to mow the lawn, even though he's been nagging me about it for days now. i don't understand why people are so stubborn about lawnmowing, anyway! especially as they often seem to complain about how boring it is... there are millions of fun things growing in the grass. but now he's said he's going to destroy it this weekend, whether i want to or not. so i'll have to save the most interesting of the weed and put somewhere where he can't get it...

the day before yesterday we went to see the circus braziljack. we got tickets at work, and noone wanted to go (!), so one of my colleagues (who happens to be my idol, by the way) finally put them on my desk when i was leaving to go home and said "go to the circus!". fortunately i have a nice friend/neighbour who agreed to dog-sit the cocker spaniel and the pup on very short notice, even though that meant she had to cook her dinner at our place and her boyfriend didn't get any dinner at all.

and i think the audi is depressed or something. or maybe he's just allergic. more and more noises are turning up here and there when we drive, and the annoying beeping warning sign goes off more and more often. and now he won't open the driver's door from inside, so i have to open the window and use the outside handle. and sometimes he refuses to lock the doors. and he falls asleep in curves more and more often... i'm trying to talk encouraging to him, and i pet him a lot, but he doesn't seem to feel any better. maybe he needs to go and see a car doctor soon.

saturday i went to visit doctor jessica with the sister, the puppy and the cocker spaniel. we had a nice weekend, with a walk in the woods, delicious dinner, the eurovision song contest with snacks and coca cola. and the puppy went to see his first lure coursing training. he even got to play with the lure a bit, and jump a few steps after it before the real training began :)

i love spring! the big ghostly birch tree outside the computer room window looks like it's made of gold when the sun shines on its tiny leaves. and i love looking under dead brown leaves on the ground, finding ants and bugs and tiny almost transparent things starting to grow. i even love the way the bushes and many of the trees look dead this time of the year. and the smell of rot.

driving home from work today i realised how much i miss when i don't have a dog. i really love the sound of rain in the woods, but i haven't been for a single walk in the woods since we moved here... being dog-less has made me miss this year's winter and spring! but we're going to get a pup this weekend, so hopefully i won't miss out on the summer at least.

i've just seen the first james bond film of my life. i don't really get it, though. does the world really need james bond when there is batman?

the audi now has its summer tires on. we just needed a little help from my friends 5-56 (one of the winter tires was stuck) and the nice grey man at uno-x in långsele (one of the summer tires needed a new valve). but now it's nice and ready for the summer. i think i'm turning into a middle aged man soon, by they way. i'm starting to love 5-56... i love the smell of it, and it seems to help for everything. my father and the nice grey man in långsele always tell me to "try 5-56", no matter what problem i have. i'm going to try it the next time i have a head ache!
