i love spring! the big ghostly birch tree outside the computer room window looks like it's made of gold when the sun shines on its tiny leaves. and i love looking under dead brown leaves on the ground, finding ants and bugs and tiny almost transparent things starting to grow. i even love the way the bushes and many of the trees look dead this time of the year. and the smell of rot.

driving home from work today i realised how much i miss when i don't have a dog. i really love the sound of rain in the woods, but i haven't been for a single walk in the woods since we moved here... being dog-less has made me miss this year's winter and spring! but we're going to get a pup this weekend, so hopefully i won't miss out on the summer at least.  ¶ 6:43 PM
