i haven't really kept you informed about what's happening with jämtteknik, i guess... i do have a good reason for this, though: i'm hoping that if i don't think about it it will sort itself out and i don't have to make the final decision. it doesn't seem to work, but you have to admit it was worth a try :)

the truth is i'm (most likely) going to start at jämtteknik in january next year. the "(most likely)" part could probably be left out, but i still can't really make myself say it for sure... i went there yesterday to talk about practical things, such as wages - which will be better than what i have now, but not as good as it sounded on the interview. they said this would only be for the first 6 months, when i'm going to learn cool things such as how to turn military vehicles into pieces (and probably turn them back into vehicles again) and boring things such as the name of every little piece the vehicles consist of. after 6 months i'll be able to renegotiate the wages (i've heard that one before, though. that's exactly what they said at the job i have right now. and after 6 months they said "what??? noooo... are you sure? that can't be right..."). fortunately i don't really care much about the wages. what upset me a bit though is that i'm going to get 7 days less of vacation. *that's* going to be negotiated after 6 months for sure!

something else: a grumpy old dog has moved into one of the tiny little toilets at work. when i first saw him it was a pleasant surprise. then i realised i'm only going to see him for the second it takes to open the door and turn around to be able to place myself on the toilet. that made me a bit sad. then i realised that my male colleagues who pee standing up can look at him while they are peeing, which felt a bit unfair. why should the men have a grumpy old dog to look at while they're peeing while i have to look at the boring door? (*then* i realised that if the men look at the grumpy old dog while they're peeing, it may be bad for the freshness of the toilet...)  ¶ 5:30 PM
