latest news:

* had to wear gloves when i biked to work for the first time today, and it's been an autumn-ish feeling all day even though the sun has been shining
* put away the sun chairs, the hammock and the garden furniture for the winter
* had dinner in the garden
* tommy started mowing the lawn, but ran out of gas after a while
* i cleaned the downstairs windows (that's a big deal. i normally don't clean windows unless i have to because i'm moving. big growing up sign)
* let two of the geraniums move in (the windows have been flower-less so far, as the flowers have been living in the garden over summer)

now i'm going to watch idol on tv. i don't really like it, because seeing all those young people full of dreams and expectations being ridiculed and having their hopes killed is so sad... but at the same time i can't not see it when i hear tommy watching. so, my way of dealing with it is to decide that they must all be actors, and that it's all a big show. maybe not true, but it makes it a bit less painful to watch.  ¶ 8:07 PM
