our ex-gravel road has now been turned into something that reminds of a potato field. in order to drive to work we have to drive in the ditch to get by the worst places. and it's only the left ditch that works. and it's getting worse. soon the real fields beside the road will be better than the road...

i'm afraid i will ruin someone else's car with all the stones and mud and gravel that falls off mine... and my shoes get so dirty they've probably had to hire extra people to clean the floors at work. there's a track of dry mud from my car to where i leave the shoes in the cloakroom.

it's going to be interesting to see what happens when winter comes back, and the road freezes. we won't be able to drive on it then, i guess. maybe we should hurry up and buy a jeep.

i met our little gossip-lady the other day. update on village gossip:
* an addict is renting the flat in the village-cafe (it hasn't been a cafe for ages. and if i'm correctly informed the cafe period only lasted a few weeks. but the sign and the name is still there :). AND she has the key to the entire building. including the cafe. (which, of course, is a very bad thing. as she's an addict. and addicts attract other addicts. i'm sure the cafe will be full of addicts one of these days. maybe the bad road will slow them down a bit, though...)

* the fight between the two neighbours who can't decide who owns the very small piece of grass between the mailbox and the fence increased. so the neighbour on the other side of the fence decided to tear down the greenhouse of the neighbour who lives behind the mailboxes. so the lantmäteriet (i guess... or whoever it is that knows who owns what) came and put poles in the ground showing more or less exactly what man owns what piece of the earth. the funny thing about this fight is that these two men own all the land and fields and woods around both lakes. and they fight about a little piece of grass. with two stones in it, so you can't even really use it as a lawn. i was a bit surprised that they had finally decided to find out who really owns it, though, as i guessed they liked fighting over it. but then i learned they've found something new to fight about:

* the neighbour behind the fence is building a stable. big enough for 6-7 horses. the neighbour behind the mailboxes is, until soon, the only one owning a stable around here. which means all horses owned by all people around the lakes live there. and, apparently, this means he gets quite a lot of money. but with the new stable he might not be able to keep his stable. which makes him worried, of course. this might very well divide the villagers into two different teams: team neighbour behind the mailboxes and team neighbour behind the fence. i haven't decided which team to join yet...

* no news about the new people in our house. it's really interesting. they come and go. and noone knows where they go. or why they come. very very interesting. but the little gossip lady is going to talk to a woman who's related to someone who knows the man who owns the house. hopefully i'll get some more news soon.
