i feel sick. i've just been watching a programme about the torture in abu guraib, with and interview with lynndie england. i find it so scary that people are capabe of doing such horrible things to other living creatures, and don't feel that they are doing anything wrong. does that mean people are evil? or are we just stupid? i recently heard that someone (my husband says voltaire, i guessed aristotle...) said something like "there is no evil, just lack of goodness". i thought that sounded rather wise. but i'll have to think about it for a while before i'm really sure... i'm a slow thinker.
