the ice on the lake was almost black today. it might not sound like a big deal, but it looked really amazing, and my husband and i stood in the window and looked at it for ages when we noticed it this morning. i don't know much about ice, but i guess that the turning black thing is part of the melting process. the music has stopped too, a few days ago. i had expected it to be louder the more the ice melted... it's white again now, maybe because it gets colder at nights?
it's been very windy here the last two or three days, so the road has dried up quite a lot. that's a veeery good thing, because bob gets absolutely brown by mud otherwise!
talked to my mother yesterday, and apparently they have no snow left, and daffodils all over the garden. it's difficult to imagine, as we still have quite a lot of snow, and are only beginning to see some parts of the earth here and there... but the last bit of snow on the porch melted today, which tommy and i had decided would mean that spring is here. so we'll see tomorrow if we were right :) i've been waiting for that little piece of snow to go away for a week now, so i really hope spring will start to come our way now.

ännu vintrigare idag än igår. det bara snöar och snöar, och blir kallare och kallare. måste försöka hitta mej ett par skidor...
jag har klivit i gropar och ramlat omkull tre dar i rad nu. och två dar i rad har jehovas vittnen kommit och hälsat på. jag börjar fundera på om vi fastnat i nån slags tid"loop" eller nåt... fast det kom inga jehovas vittnen idag, så vi kanske har kommit loss igen.
idag gjorde jag en mobil av svart tråd (sån som man egentligen ska knyta ihop soppåsar med, enligt mamma). den blev rätt bra faktiskt. när ni kommer och hälsar på får ni se den :)

idag har hela familjen utom teo duschat. mer eller mindre frivilligt. fast inte samtidigt förstås; först bob, sen jag, sen kunde jag inte motstå att stoppa in galdor innan tommy fick ta det varmvatten som blev över. jag tror det var galdors premiärdusch, men han verkade inte bli särskilt upprörd. skakade lite på fötterna efteråt, och sen gick han och lade sej att sova i hallen. fast han har ju blivit doppad i ett badkar förut förstås, så han kanske kände sej van.
så har jag sytt gardiner till sovrummet idag också. det är det enda rummet som har fått gardiner än, jag tycker det är rätt trevligt utan. men vi hade köpt påslakan att sy sovrumsgardiner av redan innan, så det kändes lite ”onödigt” att inte göra det. det blev ganska trevligt med gardiner också, som tur var. man får se om det blir några fler, eller om resten av fönstren får stå tomma…möjligen kan jag tänka mej att sätta upp nåt i fönstrena i ”datorrummet”. eller kanske något grovt tyg i vardagsrumsfönstren… man får se hur det blir.
Det har blivit vinter igen här i nyland. snö och kallt var det idag. lite svårt att tänka sej att vi har suttit utomhus och ätit lunch flera dagar i rad, och att jag var barfota i början av mars! jag som hade hoppats att det skulle bli sommar i början av april för en gångs skull… men det är faktiskt lite trevligt med vinter också, så att man kan fortsätta att promenera på isarna ett tag. jag kanske borde skaffa mej ett par skidor?
idag är min och tommys oficiella treårsdag, förresten! vi utsåg 22:a mars till ”blev ihop dagen”, eftersom vi inte riktigt blev ihop nåt tydligt datum. tänk vad tiden går…
jag kom att fundera på en sak idag: om två människor har varsit stort sår i handen, kan de då växa ihop om de håller varandra i handen tillräkligt länge? eller kan sår bara växa ihop inom samma människa?… (att jag kom att tänka på det kan bero på att jag halkade omkull och skar mej i handen på en sten igår )

tommy and i cooked "salmon teriyaki" today. i was convinced that it would be a horrible experience, as the teriyaki sause had a very weird smell before we cooked it. but it turned out to be quite good :) next time we'll use a little less ginger, but otherwise it was ok. i've been curious about the taste of chicken teriyaki for a while, as i've heard it's really good and i don't eat chicken. so when i found this recipe i thought i might give it a try. i guess you can use meat as well... and now where waiting for some roasted nuts to cool of, so we can put them on a very fancy cake we're baking. we're turning into real cooks! (just so you know, if you're thinking of coming and visit us :)

i just heard on tv that today is "international sleeping day". that explains why i sleapt for hours today... first in bead, then on the sofa. good to know that i'm normal :)

jag tror att vårat skolhus byggdes 1928. i alla fall står det årtalet i stenen ovanför en dörr till källaren. enligt en liten tant som tommy träffade när han var ute och cyklade en dag så slutade skolverksamheten redan 1955. en av de som bor i huset flyttade hit för ca 35 år sedan, och berättade att på den tiden var det två lägenheter på övervåningen och skoldel på nedre våningen. i lägenheten där jag och tommy bor var det skolbespisning. husets förra ägare renoverade för 4-5 miljoner, och byggde lägenheter även på bottenvåningen. huset såldes sen på exekutiv auktion för 800 000 till nuvarande ägaren. mer än så vet vi inte om huset än... men det är trevligt, i alla fall. :)

winter doesn't seem to want to give up to spring just yet, and today they've had a big fight over nyland, with rain and snow and rain again all day. boooring. i've spent most of the day on the sofa or vacuum cleaning the floors. even more boooring.
found a falling down house with nice window frames on a walk today. i'm thinking about asking the owners if i might buy them and fix them up so i can replace the windows in the cottage... i guess there's no hurry though, as the house is in really really bad shape, and i don't think there is any hope of it surviving.
right now i'm baking bread for the first time in years. keep your fingers crossed that i'm still good at it :) i'm looking forward to warm bread in front of dirty dancing on tv tonight. i saw that film last time we moved too, at the same day we moved, with furniture and boxes all over the place and the tv almost not visible behind a book shelf. and my friends sara and felicia visiting us, and the dogs tired and irritated. so i guess the feeling won't be exactly the same tonight...
still no internet at home... the modem doesn't want to work, for some reason. can't say i miss it yet, though. the weather is most of the time wonderful, with spring-like days and cold nights. nights are almost magical, with northern lights moving across the skies like ghosts, and music coming from the ice on the lake. really interesting sounds!

just a quick note from the library in sollefteå, while tommy and bob are waiting for me in the park...
i really love our new home! i think bob and i are more happy about this place than the others, probably. me because of the peace and beauty, and bob because of all the horse shit. we go for long walks in the forest or on the lake, and it's really really beautiful. i think it's a little bit scary to walk on the lake though, as there are music and gun fire coming from the ice. our neighbour says it's safe to walk on it for a long time yet, though...
there are 9 houses in our little village, including our school house, and the landscape is really beatiful with "moutains/hills" framing lakes and fields. our neighbours have 15 horses, so maybe i'll be able to ride a bit :) the people we've met seem friendly, but you don't see many people around most of the time. apparently there'll be a party on the last of april though, with lots of people coming to light the fire and drink alcohol.
have to rush out now, to have a walk in the park. we'll give the modem a try later this week.

we're going home today. we haven't got the papers for the car yet, but my brother is going to send them to us when he gets them. we haven't met my other brother this week we've been here, as he has been working in gothenburg the entire week. it has been nice coming "home" for a week, as i normally only have the time to visit my family for christmas and at the summer holidays. but i'm really looking forward to going home to our new home now. it's going to be nice to see what the cats and the dog think about it.

yeserday tommy and i went to a michael ruff concert at katalin in uppsala. it was a nice concert, even though it started 45 minutes later than planned, and the last train home was at 23.10, so we missed the end of it. the musicians seemed to have a lot of fun, but i thought their looong solo parts often were rather boring. a little bit too much showing off, i think. i really liked the bass player Marco Mendoza, maybe a little bit because he reminded of a teacher at the music school in tierp, where i played a lot when i still lived there.

the biggest "i'm getting old sign" so far: i really really like the toyota...
it's nice to drive, the seats are comfortable, the steering wheel is adjustable, the doors open when you want them to (and stay closed when you want them to), it doesn't sound like an aeroplane, it accelerates when you press the accelerator and brakes when you press the brake pedal... and it even looks like a normal car.
a few years ago i probably wouldn't have liked it at all, because i didn't like cars without personality. now i think reliability is a much more important quality than personality in a car... i'm getting more and more boring!

the lost key has been found and returned to our ex landlord. good! that saved us at least a couple of hundreds.
my sister maja has been home from school yesterday and today, being half dead. but so far i'm still feeling ok. this afternoon i accompanied my sister to school, to see "bowling for columbine". our plan was that if i was noticed by the mean and vicious teachers i'd say that i was the stand-in for one of my sister's classmates.
yesterday was great weather, and we had a picnic outside the grocery store, to get some more freckles. today there is a storm, with buses blowing off the roads... tomorrow we are planning to go to the city and buy a new vacuum cleaner (as i had to throw the old one away after having cleaned out the old flat... didn't want to take it with me on the train).

we're now in tierp, visiting my parents. the move saturday went fine, with only a few disasters:
*one of our keys had disappeared, and couldn't be found anywhere
* when i was cleaning out the flat i noticed a hole in the floor... probably from the bookshelf... hope it won't be too expensive!
* the dog's leash accidentaly was packed and disappeared (which i fortunately realised before i had to go to the train, so i had time to run to the supermarket and buy a new red one)
* after the big truck had left with all our boxes and furniture and i was left alone in the flat i noticed some kitchen stuff were left... so i had to take it with me tied in ropes on my bag
* there was something wrong with the train, so it was freezing cold and we all nearly died
* tommy lost the key to my bike, so he had to walk an hour in darkness in the middle of the night to get to the train
... that's all i can remember, so i guess it wasn't too bad
we're staying in tierp for a few days, relaxing, getting the papers for our new car in order, etc.
